Inclusive Access (IA) Frequently Asked Questions

This FAQ is for Students in courses that have opted to offer course materials through Inclusive Access (IA). For questions about eBooks in non-IA courses visit our Access Code FAQ. For Instructors visit our Instructor IA FAQ.

What is Inclusive Access?

Inclusive Access (IA) provides students with required digital course materials at a discounted price that is lower than standard retail pricing. Students receive access before or on the first day of class, and the cost is charged directly to their student account. Students may choose to opt out before the published deadline.

How do I access my course materials?

Access links will be available through your course and the course textbook listing. Instructions will be provided before or at the start of the term.

How much does it cost?

Pricing varies by course material and publisher. Inclusive Access provides the lowest available price available through the program.

How and when am I charged?

The cost of the materials is automatically charged to your student account before the start of the term.

Can I opt out?

Yes. Students can opt out through the Campus Store website before the published opt-out deadline. Students who opt out may also opt back in before the deadline.
The Fall 2026 opt out deadline is September 30.

What happens if I opt out?

You will lose access to all Inclusive Access course materials and related digital components. The impact on completed assignments or activities may vary depending on the publisher platform.

Will I receive a refund if I opt out?

Yes. Students who opt out before the deadline will receive a credit to their student account. A confirmation email will be sent once the opt-out process is completed.

What happens if I add, drop, or withdraw from a course?

Only enrolled students receive access to Inclusive Access materials. If you officially drop the course, the Inclusive Access charge will be removed from your student account and your access to the materials will end. No additional action is required.

How long will I have access to my course materials?

Access periods vary by publisher and product. Information about access duration will be provided with the course material details.
